Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is particularly difficult for officers, who work long and irregular hours, get called away for emergencies, and can find it hard to let go of the day’s events even once they are home. These challenges directly impact their families, as well. Families play a critical role in helping their officers work towards a healthy work-life balance, which ultimately increases their connection and improves their interpersonal relationships. Juggling this profession, family, and oneself is difficult to do, but when done well can make all the difference.
