Personal Banker Inspired to Join Force After Investigating Identity Theft

I have been a peace officer with the Town of Vail since December of 2004. I first became interested in working as a police officer while working as a personal banker for Wells Fargo.  I assisted numerous customers who were victims of identity theft, which peaked my interest in law enforcement, and especially in investigating the crime of identity theft. I truly enjoyed the investigative aspect of following the paper trail. I became a police officer because I wanted to investigate these crimes further and hold accountable those who are responsible.

My current assignments are as field training officer, Intoxilyzer (alcohol breath testing equipment) instructor, defensive tactics instructor, and gang officer. I also participate on the Department’s color guard.

What I enjoy most about being a police officer is the challenge and the diversity of the job. Every day I am tasked with a new opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.
