Financial Wellness

A feeling of financial wellness and security are important to our overall well-being and can have an effect on our mental health. This means it is highly recommended to begin the process of creating a financial plan early in a law enforcement career. Officers and their families should work together on establishing budgets, minimizing and paying off debt, and setting money aside for emergencies and unexpected expenses. These are critical conversations to have and plans to document.
When families create and stick to a budget, they feel more prepared and less anxious about their financial future.
